V. SHANKAR, Managing Director & CEO

Shankar is the Chief Executive Officer and a Founder of Maximus Infoware (“Maximus”).

In his current role, Shankar is directly responsible for the company’s Corporate Strategy, Business Development and Product Direction. Shankar is a hands-on executive who works with the Business Development, Sales and Software teams on the ground, to design solution offerings, determine product pricings, formulate product architectures and finalise deployment models. As a result, each member of the concerned team is tuned in and able to deliver as per his vision. Shankar is also in touch with key clients and partners to ensure that the Company’s service levels match their expectations.

Prior to setting up Maximus, Shankar was responsible for establishing the Interconnected Stock-Exchange of India (ISE). Starting from a mere vision, he took ISE to a level where it connected 14 Stock-Exchanges and had over 4,500 trading members.

Shankar started ISE after his earlier experience with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) where he headed IT, Market Operations and Investor Services. His most significant contribution at BSE was implementation of BSE Online Trading (BOLT) system.

Overall, Shankar has 28+ years of industry experience, following a Masters Degree in Management Studies on top of a Bachelors Degree in Engineering. In his spare time, Shankar loves to travel, listen to Indian classical music and read P. G. Wodehouse and other humorous authors.


UMA SHANKAR, Director – Finance & HR

Uma is the other Founder of Maximus. She is Director, Finance & Human Resources.

As Head of Finance, Uma handles the finances, manages the investments and overseas the financial risks of the Company. Under her management, Maximus has been rated as “Financially Stable” by Crisil/S&P in 2018.

In her role as the Head of Human Resources, she ensures that the Company retains a people-centric culture. Combining her feminine instincts with professional wisdom, she generates a unique people-oriented culture, which is a key strength of the Company.

Prior to co-founding Maximus, Uma ran her own business in packaged software distribution for 8 years. Her firm won many awards and had over 3,000 customers. Some of her key employees from this business venture are still with Maximus today. Besides this entrepreneurial experience, she had worked for 10 years at State Bank of India and Syndicate Bank.

Uma’s professional qualifications include CPA (USA) and ICWA (India). She likes to travel and listen to Indian classical music. Her reading interests are autobiographies and travelogues.


PIYUSH SHAH, Director – Marketing

As Director – Marketing, Piyush is responsible for driving the sales initiatives of the company and also for marketing and business development functions.

His experience in sales and marketing of financial and software products have given him a keen sense of understanding and grasp of customer requirements, a trait that is invaluable in marketing and sales. His in-depth knowledge of all the MAXIMUS products enables him to propose the correct offering to customers.

He works diligently to forge close relationships that benefit both the customers and the organization – customers by way of solutions that meet their exact requirements and the organization by way of critical inputs to the project execution teams for enhancing product value and service levels.

Piyush has a degree in Commerce followed by a Post-Graduate Diploma in Computers.


SAJIT KUMAR, Director

Sajit Kumar is Sr. Vice President at SIDBI Venture Capital Limited (SVCL) and has been actively involved in making venture investments and exits for over a decade and half. Hitherto he has represented SVCL on the boards of investee companies including Compulink Systems Limited, Western India Cashew Company Private Limited, Synergistic Financial Networks Private Limited, Bonzai Digital Private Limited, Printland Digital (India) Private Limited and DSM Fresh Foods Private Limited With rich experience in delivery channel and payment industry solutions, he advises the company on strategic and policy matters.
